Bhubaneswar Travel Guide

Bhubaneswar literally meaning ‘The Lord of the Universe’ is a capital city of Orissa. It is a rich cultural city besides being a commercial center. The city is well connected with other parts of the country via airways, roadways and railways.

There are several tourist attractions in the city. The Lingaraj temple is the most magnificent temple in the city. The temple is set in a huge walled compound measuring 520 feet by 465 feet is built in 'Nagara' style of architecture. Around the main shrine there are several votive shrines. To the north of temple lies is the sacred lake of Bindu Sagar where Lingaraj is brought once a year for ritual ablations.

Other notable temples which are housed in this city are Anant Basudeva Temple and Mukteswar Temple.
