Bhubaneswar literally meaning ‘The Lord of the Universe’ is a capital city of Orissa. It is a rich cultural city besides being a commercial center. The city is well connected with other parts of the country via airways, roadways and railways.

To the north of temple lies is the sacred lake of Bindu Sagar where Lingaraj is brought once a year for ritual ablations.
